Haveri: With nothing to criticize about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is attempting to create fear among the people by suggesting that the BJP would change the Constitution, stated former chief minister and Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai.

Responding to CM Siddaramaiah’s assertion that people should not vote for the BJP because it would change the Constitution, Bommai told reporters before launching the campaign in Savanur on Saturday that the CM had nothing substantial to say against the PM. He reiterated this sentiment multiple times.

No one can alter the Constitution as everything is governed by rules. Even the Supreme Court has ruled out any amendments to the Constitution. However, Siddaramaiah has been making these statements to instill fear among the people. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar provided the nation with a permanent constitution, he said.

In response to Congress MLA Laxman Savadi’s claim that “Bharat Mata ki Jai” was not the exclusive property of the BJP, the former CM stated that every citizen of Bharat has the right to chant this slogan. He suggested that Congress leaders should also chant this slogan to ensure Bharat Mata’s happiness. Seeking permission from AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge to chant this slogan would indicate the Congress mindset.

When asked about Siddaramaiah’s prediction that the BJP would not win 400 seats, Bommai argued that the Congress party was contesting only in 230 seats and should focus on its own campaign instead of commenting on other parties. He expressed confidence that the BJP would secure over 370 seats, ensuring the return of the BJP government to power.

Regarding the telephone tapping of Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of the Adi Chunchanagiri Mutt, Bommai stated that there was no clarity on the matter and one should refrain from making statements until clarity is achieved.

Responding to the statement that Sri Dingaleshwara Swami of the Shirahatti Fakireshwara Trust would become another Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Bommai questioned why it should not happen if the people wished for it.
