Haveri: The upgradation of Karadagi Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Karadagi has begun, and would cost Rs. 8 Crore, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. he said that it will include a 30-bed hospital with facilities like an operating theatre.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for several development projects and the Yatri Nivas at Sri Veerabhadreshwara Swamy Kshethra in Karadagi, Savanur Taluk, on Saturday, he said the PHCs in Hulaguru in Shiggaon Taluk, and Karadagi in Savanur Taluk will be upgraded for the benefit of the rural population of Karadagi and the surrounding areas.
The Valmiki Bhavan, roads, Anganwadi, schools, and auditorium were all part of the detailed development plan for Karadagi, he said.
“Devotees travel from Belagavi, Davangere, Shivamogga, and other places to see Karadagi Sree Kshethra since it is a holy pilgrimage and a seat of power,” he added.
“I constructed Prasada Bhavan while I was an MLA, and now four dormitories and rooms will be built at a cost of Rs 1.5 Crore. The construction of a Yatri Nivas would receive an additional Rs 1.5 crore. In addition, Rs. 50 lakh has been allocated for basic infrastructure. A fund of Rs 1. Crore has been allocated for the building of an auditorium at this shrine. The government has designed all of these initiatives to give visiting devotees the best facilities,” he said.
“Over 834 houses had been sanctioned for Karadagi, and an additional 200 houses will be sanctioned soon,” he added.
“Dasoha needs to be done on a large scale for visitors to this shrine. It is necessary to collect donations from devotees and create plans to provide Prasada to the devotees each day,” said Bommai.
“I have a good relationship with Karadagi, and the god of Karadagi’s blessings are always with me. Nobody can misuse Eranna of Karagadi’s funds, and they must perform their duties sincerely. This shrine’s ongoing development must be done with dedication,” he urged.
