Haveri: Former Chief Minister and BJP candidate for the Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency, Basavaraj Bommai, stated that the people of Karnataka would not tolerate rowdyism in politics. And Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was not equivalent to stature of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda to offer suggestions.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Bommai condemned the disruption caused by women Congress workers during a meeting in Tumkur attended by Deve Gowda. Democracy advocates freedom of expression, but disturbances at the JDS-NDA campaign meeting was disrespectful to the esteemed Kannadiga former PM.

Bommai stated that such disruptions do not align with Kannadiga culture, and the people are closely observing everything.

Regarding former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy’s statement, Bommai said the former CM has already issued a clarification. He pointed out derogatory statements made by several Congress leaders about women, including recent comments by AICC General Secretary Randeep Surjewala. Bommai urged the Congress party to address these issues and prioritize curbing atrocities against women under their government.

Responding to questions about the CM’s remarks on Deve Gowda, Bommai said that Siddaramaiah lacked the stature to advise the former PM. He emphasized the absence of senior leaders capable of providing guidance to Devegowda.

Bommai stated that the Lok Sabha election results would massively impact state politics.
