Bengaluru: A tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru as a 21-year-old engineering student lost her life after being struck by a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus on Friday morning, according to the police.
The student, identified as Kusumita, was en route to her college when the accident happened around 8:30 am. The CCTV footage from a nearby shop near Harishchandra Ghat in Malleswaram captured the incident.
In the footage, bystanders are seen signaling to the bus driver to reverse his vehicle while others rush to assist in pulling the victim from beneath the bus tire. Even passengers on the bus disembarked to aid the efforts.
The Malleswaram police station has initiated a case regarding the incident, although the bus driver remains at large, as he has not yet been apprehended.
