Bengaluru: As many as 35 farmers from Navalagunda in Dharwad district travelled to New Delhi with the idea of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to draw his attention towards the Mahadei issue.
The team is led by Basappa Birennavar, who informed that this is an all party delegation and in New Delhi, before meeting the Prime Minister they will hold a Delhi Chalo march seeking justice in the Mahadei water dispute.
“Union minister Prahlad Joshi and local MLA Shankar Patil Munenakoppa have assured us that they will arrange a meeting with the Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday. So we are travelling to New Delhi,” he explained.
He alleged that Goa is creating hurdles for this drinking water project without any reasons. “We are the sufferers. We want justice,” he said.
