Bengaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officers who conducted a raid on a PWD assistant engineer’s house on January 4, found sarees worth Rs 13 Lakh!
On the basis of allegations of assets disproportionate to the sources, ACB targeted Venkatesh, an engineer from Sakaleshpur in Hassan district and unearthed a huge amount of assets on January 4.
They have seized documents related to 4 sites-one house and 4 acres of land. Along with this, policy bonds worth Rs 4 Lakh, 2 cars and bikes, 1.5 kgs of gold and 3 kgs of silver and Rs 52,000 in cash.
According to the ACB sources, Bellary Sub Divisional Officer B T Kumaraswamy was the owner of 13 acres of land, 1.500 kg gold, 200 grams of silver and Rs 4 Lakh in cash. KPTCL Superintendent Engineer N R M Nagarajan had 2 houses, 10 sites in various locations, car, bike, 798 grams of gold, 5.50 kgs of silver and cash worth Rs 91,000.
BDA City Project Deputy Director R V Kantharaju owned 5 houses, 10 acres of land, 1.500 kgs of gold, 4.50 kgs of silver, car, bike, and cash worth Rs 37,000. KPTCL Assistant Executive Engineer K C Jagadishappa had 5 sites in Davangere, 2 sites in Shivamogga, one in Bengaluru, 2 flats in Dharwad, car, bike, and jewellery. These were few of the big fish caught with a huge amount of jewellery and assets in the form of land.
PDO owns 8 sites
According to police, Nelamangala Taluk, Vajarahalli Gram Panchayat PDO Rekha owned a 4 floored house, 8 flats, car, bike, Rs 34.4 Lakh bank deposit, 264 gram gold, 100 grams of silver, along with around Rs 2 Lakh in cash.
