Bengaluru: The State Government collected a whopping Rs.16,948 Crore from liquor sale in last seven months.
It is Rs. 2,333 Crore increased compared to corresponding period of previous financial year. The State Government had set a target of Rs. 29,000 Crore tax from the liquor sale in the current financial year. With robust growth in the liquor consumption, the State Government is likely to achieve the goal.
According to the data, beer continues to be the most consumed alcohol item in the State followed by IML. Other varieties of drinks were also consumed more this year.
