A Reddit post by a 26-year-old man from Bengaluru has ignited outrage online. He alleged that during a late-night police stop near Indiranagar, officers demanded access to his phone under the pretense of a routine drug inspection. Believing it to be standard protocol, the man complied, only to be left feeling humiliated and powerless.

According to the Reddit post, the officers first looked through his contacts before insisting he open his photo gallery. What followed was deeply disturbing—he claimed the policemen stared at intimate and explicit photos of his girlfriend, zoomed in, laughed among themselves, and made lewd comments. The incident reportedly happened around 10:30 PM while he was heading home on his scooter.

Despite handing over his phone voluntarily, the man said he felt coerced, with no real choice. After examining the photos, one officer allegedly made a snide remark: “Keep this stuff private, bro—some things aren’t for public display.” They then warned him to avoid marijuana and left.

The Reddit post, shared by user ‘VDtheking’, quickly gained traction. While many expressed horror over the alleged misconduct, others shifted blame, criticizing the man for not securing his private content.

The post raises serious concerns about personal privacy, digital boundaries, and misuse of authority during police stops.
