Bengaluru: Inter-district accused arrested after long absconding
Bengaluru police have arrested an inter-district accused, who had been absconding for eight years and residing abroad, in connection with multiple theft cases.
The accused, Iqbal Ahmad Ansari from Mysuru district, was taken into custody on August 29 when he arrived at Bengaluru International Airport from Dubai. Immigration officials detained him and handed him over to the police.
Pending cases and court proceedings
Police sources stated that Ansari faces several theft-related cases registered across Shirva, Manipal, and Thirthahalli police station limits. The cases remain pending trial in court.
Following his arrest, Ansari was brought to Padubidri police station and subsequently produced before the Udupi court for further legal proceedings.
