A tragic incident unfolded in Tavarekere town on Wednesday, where a 14-year-old girl was found dead in her home under suspicious circumstances.
The girl, identified as Aruna, was a 6th-grade student who had stayed home that day. Her parents, daily-wage workers originally from Koppal, had gone to work at a construction site. Upon returning, they discovered her unresponsive and immediately alerted authorities.
Preliminary reports indicate she suffered fatal injuries. Police suspect a portable cylinder may have been used in the attack. A case has been registered, and investigators are awaiting medical examination results to determine the exact cause of death.
One individual, identified as Yallappa, has been taken into custody. Ramanagara SP Srinivas Gowda confirmed that a thorough investigation is in progress, with forensic teams collecting evidence and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations.
In a separate case earlier this year in Bengaluru Rural district, another incident involving a minor was investigated under child protection laws. Officials confirmed that all necessary legal steps are being followed.
Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious activity and reaffirm their commitment to child safety and swift justice.
