Bengaluru: Attacking the BJP for its ‘Parivarthana Rally’ (Rally for Change), Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that it comes across to be more of a ‘Paschyathapa Rally’ (Rally for Repentance) considering all the misdeeds the BJP has done so far. Addressing the reporters at his residence office ‘Krishna’, the CM said that no rally can wash away the sins the BJP has done and moreover, the people of the state are too intelligent to fall for such rallies.

“Our voters know the nature of each and every leader and the principles of the parties too. Such being the case, how can BJP convince them to forget the episode of serious corruption and loot that happened in the state,” he said.

Continuing his attack on the BJP, he said that the corruption cases that had taken place during the BJP rule in the state are still afresh in the memory of the voters. “B S Yeddyurappa had given a free hand to Reddy brothers to loot the resources of the state. Otherwise, how could the Reddys exploit valuable resources worth crores and crores of rupees in Bellary,” he said mocking BSY for leading the Parivarthana Rally and BJP National Chief Amit Shah for inaugurating the rally. “Both have been to the prison at one point of time or the other,” the CM ridiculed adding that Modi, Shah and Yogi’s games and plots won’t work in Karnataka.

Talking about BSY, the CM said that BSY is BJP’s chief ministerial candidate, but the truth is that several within his party are waiting to bring him down. “Eshwarappa, Ashok, C T Ravi and many more are waiting to topple BSY,” he said. With regard to the stir called for by the medicos opposing the government’s decision of bringing on Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (Amendment) Bill 2017, the CM said that it is rather disheartening to know that the doctors are protesting against policies that favour the poor. “We have tried to have a dialogue with the doctors. If need arises we will talk to them again,” the CM said.
