Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday said BJP national president Amit Shah has no business to question Congress leaders’ loyalty towards Kannada language and culture.
“Who is he to question us? He is an outsider,’’ said Rao.
Coming down heavily on Amit Shah for asking details on spending of funds allocated by the Centre, Rao said that Shah has no authority to seek such details.
“Shah is not a minister or an authority to seek such details. Let Prime Minister or Union Finance Minister seek those details if they have doubts on the spending of those funds,’’ he said.
Mafia politics
Taking a note of Amit Shah’s speech on not allocating any more funds to Karnataka, he said that Central Government has not done any favour to Karnataka.
“Getting funds from the Centre is our right accorded by the Constitution. I demand an apology from BJP national president as well as BJP state president for threatening the state,’’ he said.
Paschayatapa Yatra
Lampooning BJP leaders’ Parivarthana Yatra, the KPCC working president has described it as a complete flop.
“There were no people. No enthusiasm among those who make it. BJP leaders were struggling to get people at the venue. Empty chairs spoke about the so-called success of Parivarthana Yatra,’’ he said.
Tipu Jayanthi
Taking objection to the BJP leaders’ criticism on celebrating Tipu Jayanthi, the KPCC working president has said the state government has been celebrating all Jayanthis of great people and saints belonging to all communities.
“We have celebrated Tipu’s Jayanthi all these years. We will celebrate it this year too,’’ he said.
