Bengaluru: The Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka, has invited nominations for Hoysala (boys) and Keladi Chennamma (girls) bravery awards on the occasion of Children’s Day.
Children aged between six and 18, who have exhibited exceptional courage and presence of mind to save lives in dangerous circumstances, and born on or after August 1, 1999, are eligible for the award. The incident should have occurred between August 2016 and July 2017. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a citation.
Nominees can obtain prescribed application forms from the Deputy Director of the Department of Women and Child Development in the respective districts and submit it by August 31. Applications should be submitted in Kannada only, a release stated.
