Bengaluru: If state Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy fails to waive farmer loans within a week , then he should step down, demanded Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Chief B S Yeddyurappa..
Claiming the bandh demanding farm loan waiver against the incumbent Janata Dal (S)-Congress coalition government a success, BSY issued a week’s ultimatum before drawing up plans to intensify protests.
The bandh drew huge response despite BJP not seeking support of any organisation, he added.
The government used police force to quell the protests , BSY alleged.
Farmer suicides are unabated in the state with three more farmers’ ending lives soon after the new government took over, BSY said.
