Bengaluru: Congress leader D K Shivakumar has slammed Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for carrying out ‘hate politics’ against the Opposition parties.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, October 29, he said, “When BSY was Leader of the Opposition, he had come to my house while I was a minister in the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government. I had helped him get sanctions for many projects worth several crores. I was unbiased.”

“When BSY became the Chief Minister after the fall of the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government, he had promised that he would not indulge in ‘hate politics.’ What is he doing now?” he questioned.

Challenging BSY’s earlier statement on establishing a medical college somewhere other than Kanakpura, DKShi said, “Establishing a medical college in my Kanakpura Assembly Constituency is a long-term dream. I will definitely fulfill it and will not allow it to be shifted elsewhere at any cost. I will write a letter to him in a few days’ time in this regard and I am of the belief that he will respond to it positively.”

It can be recalled that BSY had decided to move the construction of a medical college from Kanakpura to Chikkaballapur with most of the reports hinting that is was a political strategy.
