A video showing a bus driving on the wrong side of Bengaluru’s NICE Road has sparked widespread anger and calls for strict action. The footage, recorded between the Bannerghatta junction and the Electronic City toll, shows the bus attempting to enter Bannerghatta Road by navigating against traffic, endangering other commuters.
The video, which has received over 240,000 views, prompted netizens to demand accountability. One user wrote, “This happens because of poor law enforcement. People assume they can get away with a bribe.” Another stressed the need for accountability, stating, “Bus drivers hold greater responsibility as so many lives depend on them. The license must be revoked immediately.”
Some users tagged Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, describing the incident as “equivalent to intended mass murder” and urging immediate arrest of the driver, cancellation of the license, and impoundment of the vehicle.
This is not an isolated incident. Similar cases have been reported on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, including a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus and a school bus both spotted driving on the wrong side, raising alarms about a troubling pattern of reckless driving on Karnataka’s roads.
