Businessman lands in trouble for clicking picture of cop without helmet!

Bengaluru: Even as the traffic policemen across the state are keeping a vigil on bike riders who are not wearing safety head gear, here in Bengaluru, a citizen was allegedly intimidated for photographing a traffic cop who was riding his bike without a helmet!

Goutham Jain, a cloth merchant here immediately took out his camera and clicked a picture when he saw a traffic policeman riding a motorcycle without a helmet on Adugodi main road.

The problem erupted when Traffic constable Ramesh from Koramangala Traffic station came over to Goutham on realising that he has been clicked and told Goutham to delete the picture. When the latter refused, Ramesh snatched his bike key and fled the scene.

This sparked a impromptu protest by onlookers who blocked the road. Three patrolling vehicles came to the spot who pulled up the protesters and took them to Koramangala station.

Even in the station, the policemen sided with Ramesh and threatened Goutham of booking him under public nuisance, if he did not budge down to their demands. Eventually Goutham, for no mistake of his had to write an apology.

After deleting the picture from his mobile, the cops returned the bike key and let go of him.

It is said that the police will hold an inquiry into the same, despite the traffic police are exempted from rules in case of an emergency.
