Chitradurga: A CCTV camera of a liquor shop was damaged, the shutter broken and thousands of rupees, including cash and liquor were robbed. The incident took place on Tuesday October 18 at Mallaghatta in the second ward of National Highway 48 in an old town.

It is said that the miscreants used an aarey stick to open the MSIL shop’s shutter, destroyed the CCTV system, broke into the cash box, and made off with Rs 25,000 from it. They also stole many varieties of alcohol valued at Rs. 28,000 before running away.

An employee of MSIL shop, as usual, had closed the shop at around 9.30 pm on Tuesday. However, on the morning of Wednesday October 19, the owner of another shop besides the liquor shop called and informed Harsha that the shop had been robbed.

Harsha lodged a complaint with the police, immediately. A dog squad and fingerprint analyst reached the spot and collected information.
