Bengaluru: In what seems to be a bid to appease the ministerial aspirants, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has appointed 10 Congress legislators as parliamentary secretaries.
The Secretaries are Makabul S. Bagavan (MLA- Vijayapura City), Raju Alagur (MLA- Nagatana), Dr Umesh G. Jadav (MLA- Chincholi), Doddamani Ramakrishna Siddalingappa (MLA-Shirahatti), Chennabasappa Sathyappa Shivalli (MLA-Kundagol) Shankuntala Shetty (MLA-Puttur), C. Puttaranga Setty (MLA-Chamarajanagar), H.P. Manjunath (MLA-Hunsur) E. Thukaram (MLA- Sandur) and MLC K. Govindaraj.
The Parliamentary secretaries will be assisting the Chief Minister in the implementation of works and expedite works, an official notification stated.
The newly appointed Secretaries would be entitled to salaries and allowances as are admissible to a Minister of State rank under the Karnataka Minister’s Salaries and Allowances Act of 1963.
Meanwhile, Congress MLAs Ishwar Kandre and Pramod Madhwaraj, who also aspirants for the post, were left disappointed as their names were left out at the last moment, sources claimed.
