Bengaluru: Lokayukta Police which has been investigating the disproportionate assets case against Kapil Mohan, senior IAS officer have found over 40 CDs and DVDs along with an external hard drive containing porn and child pornography.

Sources said that many of the videos featured girls aged as young as 7 and 8 years old being raped and being forced into other sexual acts. In addition, one of the CDs also contained more child pornographic material while eight CDs had adult pornographic content.

“This is a very serious offence and we immediately notified the police, so they could conduct an inquiry,” a senior Lokayukta police official mentioned. A report was submitted to the office of the DCP North, who registered an FIR under Yeshwantpur police limits. North division police stated that they have not received the hard drive and CD/DVDs yet and they had filed an FIR based on report given to them by the Lokayukta police.

A case has been filed under Section 67 B of the IT Act, which prescribes punishment for publishing or transmitting of material depicting children (under 18 years) in sexually explicit act, etc. in electronic form.

The seized hard drive and CDs and DVDs were handed over by the Lokayukta police to Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. After the report was submitted they found out that the external hard drive contained personal photographs and documents belonging to Kapil Mohan and also a whopping 50 GB of hardcore child pornographic videos.

Earlier, CID and IT department had jointly conducted a raid on August 5, 2015 on the apartment at Golden Grand properties in Yeshwantpur during their investigation on allegations of cricket betting. They had seized Rs 4.37 crore in cash, 2.5 kg gold jewellery and diamonds. He has now been slapped a case under Information Technology Act, 2000.

The sleuths also found personal details and records of the company owned by his kin. However, the ‘accused’ column in the FIR mentions ‘unknown accused’ to be the owner of the flat. On the reasons for not naming the officer in the report submitted to Police Commissioner N.S. Megharikh, sources said investigations are on to ascertain the owner of the hard disk, and the owner’s name would be included in the FIR.

According to sources, investigations have confirmed that the apartment belongs to PSK Finance Solutions Pvt. Ltd., owned by the kin of the officer and 16 documents found in the flat had confirmed the same, sources said, adding that the investigations have also revealed bills and certificates showing investment in various companies.
