Complaint Filed Over Alleged Misuse of ₹46,300 Crore in BBMP Road Funds
Ramesh N.R., president of the Karnataka Anti-Corruption Forum, has filed a complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against nine individuals, including serving and retired IAS officers, as well as contractors. The complaint alleges a misappropriation of ₹46,300 crore earmarked for road development projects in Bengaluru under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
According to ANI, the funds in question were allocated between 2013 and 2023-24 for improving the city’s road infrastructure. Ramesh N.R. has called for a detailed investigation into the alleged financial irregularities, citing misuse of public money intended for civic development.
The allegations add to the growing scrutiny over accountability in public works and governance in Karnataka, especially concerning Bengaluru’s infrastructure. The ED is expected to examine the claims to determine the scale and nature of the misappropriation.
This development has sparked widespread attention as the city continues to face challenges in road development, raising questions about transparency and the effective utilization of taxpayer money.
