Bengaluru: The Congress final list for MLC elections from Local Authorities Constituencies have been finally approved by Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday November 22.
The candidate selected for Dakshina Kannada-Udupi is Manjunath Bhandari while for Kodagu and Uttara Kannada are Dr. Mantar Gowda, and Bhimanna Naik, respectively. Mysuru-Chamarajanagara candidate will be Dr. D. Thimmaiah and M. Shankar will be the candidate for Hassan. For Kalaburagi, Belagavi, and Hubballi-Dharawada-Gadaga-Haveri the candidates finalised are Shivananda Patil Martur, Channaraja Basavaraj Hattiholi, and Saleem Ahmed, respectively. Sarana Gouda Annadana Gouda Patil, B. Somashekar, R. Prasanna Kumar, and A. V. Gayatri Shantegowda are the candidates for Raichur, Chitradurga, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru, respectively. For Tumakuru, Mandya, Bengaluru Rural, Vijayapura-Bagalkot, and Ballary, R. Rajendra, M. G. Gooli Gowda, S. Ravi, Sunil Gowda Patil, and K. C. Kondaiah, respectively have been finalised. Bhimrao B. Patil , M. L. Anil Kumar and Yousuf Shariff are the candidates for Bidar, Kolar and Bengaluru Urban, respectively.
The selection of Congress party candidates for the council polls and subsequent release of the list got delayed due to faction politics.
