Bengaluru: Namma Metro on Wednesday January 12, has introduced new restrictions and reduced train frequency on weekends to comply with a government order to curb Covid – 19 infections.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that passenger entry into stations will be limited to guarantee that trains are not overcrowded. “If passengers notice that a train’s seating capacity is filled, they must board the leaner coaches / following trains where adequate room is available,” stated BMRCL in a press release.
Owing to reduced frequency on weekends, travellers must now wait 30 minutes for a train instead of the usual 20 minutes.
