Davangere: Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary board committee and former CM, BS Yediyurappa, has stated that the BJP and JD(S) alliance is not restricted to this Lok Sabha election but will continue in the next elections as well.
Yediyurappa’s statement comes following rumors that the alliance would not continue after the Lok Sabha election. The senior BJP leader stated that the people want this alliance to continue until the next Assembly election, and the cadre of both parties should work in tandem so that alliance candidates can win the Lok Sabha seats.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Yediyurappa said that because of the alliance, an effort to win all the 28 Lok Sabha seats has been initiated, and NDA candidates would emerge victorious. He expressed confidence that the BJP candidate from the Davangere Lok Sabha segment, Gayatri Siddeshwar, will win.
Lashing out at the Congress party, Yediyurappa challenged the leaders of the grand old party to name the Prime Ministerial candidate. They don’t have a person who could be recommended for the post. Prime Minister Modi will rule the country once again, he said.
Regarding no action taken against former minister KS Eshwarappa, the former CM said that action against him would be taken by the party at the earliest.
He termed the Congress party anti-constitutional and alleged that they did not honor Dr. BR Ambedkar. They even did not provide space for his final rites.
