Davanagere: A distressing incident unfolded on Saturday as a speeding Vande Bharat train became the target of stone pelting near GMIT College on Harihara Road in Davanagere. The attack resulted in damage to the window panes of the train.
The incident occurred while the train was enroute from Dharwad to Bengaluru. Officials from the South Western Railway immediately reported the incident to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and have initiated an inquiry into the matter.
According to the Chief Public Relations Officer of South Western Railway, the incident took place near GMIT College in Davanagere, specifically affecting the window pane of the C4 coach. Authorities have confirmed that a case has been registered against an unidentified individual in connection with the incident.
Acts of vandalism like stone pelting pose serious threats to the safety and security of passengers and the smooth functioning of train services.
