Tumkur : On Sunday, two Mangaluru residents perished instantly when their car collided with a truck on State Highway 33 close to Kottagere Hobali Chigani Palya village in Kunival Taluk. In the accident, three additional passengers who were traveling with them also suffered injuries.
The deceased, identified as Bajpe residents Kishore Shetty (35), and Philip Marie Lobo (34), were reportedly on their way back to Mangaluru from the state capital after attending Bengaluru Kambala.
The injured parties, identified as Harish (62), Preeti Lobo (29), and Nitish Bhandari (35), are receiving medical attention at the hospital.
Reports further added that the incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday when their car was returning through Neelamangala road. The driver had to reroute through Kunigal, after they missed the road and reached Tumkur instead. The car crashed into the truck which was heading towards Tumkur.
Local police reached the spot and a case was registered in this regard.
