DPUE decides to disaffiliate 10 PU colleges

dpue collgBengaluru: The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) has decided to disaffiliate 10 PU colleges that saw no student passing the II PU exam in the last three academic years.

These colleges are not allowed to admit students for the 2018-2019 academic year. All these colleges are private unaided PU colleges in north Karnataka districts.

The colleges disaffiliated include S.J. Basaveshwara PU college Kanamadagu, Ballari; Dr. Rekha P. Patil PU College, Jandoti, Belagavi; Sri Kanchaneshwari PU College, Guledagudda, Bagalkot; Gousia PU College Hombalaghatta, Davangere; Heerabi Yanka Naika PU College, Gundagatti Davangere; Sri Maruti Independent PU College Hirekerur, Haveri; Mehboob Subani PU College, Chor Gumbaz, Kalaburagi; Rani Begaum PU College, Kalaburagi; Husaini PU College, Kalaburagi; and Baptist PU College Sedam, Kalaburagi.

Holiday on May 11 and 12

The Department of Pre-University Education has declared a holiday for colleges across the State on May 11 and 12 in light of the Assembly elections.

A circular said all PU colleges would remain closed on the two days as lecturers would be roped in for election duty and some of the colleges would be used as polling booths.

This year, the II PU classes will reopen on May 2, a month in advance.
