Bengaluru: The Bengaluru railway police launched an investigation into the robbery of eight railway passengers by a person dressed in military uniform. The incident happened on the Mysuru- Ajmer express on Friday.
According to the police sources, eight residents of the Bengaluru city were travelling on the Mysuru-Ajmer express compartment number 9.
All started when the train entered into the Gujarat border and a person dressed in military uniform entered the compartment.
As the compartment was full, he requested the Bengaluru residents if he could sit with them and they obliged. He said he was going to his village as his wife was to deliver their baby.
During the travel, he shared his experiences in the military. When the residents requested for a selfie, he declined, citing that it was against military rules.
“At Surat, he got down from the train and bought three bottles of beverages and offered it to us. Within a few seconds, we all fell unconscious. The thief looted valuables and fled,” they informed the police.
According to the eyewitnesses, the thief left the compartment at Vadodara station.
