Bengaluru: Amid reports of a COVID 19 surge across the state, there was good news for the state. According to the latest data, the positivity rate (positive samples for every 100 tests done) in the state has come down by around 2% compared to the period between July 16 and July 20.
According to the data, on July 23,451 tests were carried out across the state and 4,169 persons found positive with a positive rate of 17.77%. However, it dipped to 10% on July 20.
“On July 20, 36,473 tests carried out. 3,648 samples were found positive. Even though there is a huge increase in the number of tests, the number of positive samples is coming down. It is a good sign,” explained an official from the health department.
“Delhi has been able to flatten the curve. We hope the Karnataka will be able to follow suit,” he said.
