Bengaluru: The governments of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have reached an agreement to increase passenger traffic and improve facilities between the two states. An official press release states that so far, the two governments have signed one major agreement and eight supplemental agreements.
“Due to the increase in the passenger traffic between the two states and to provide better transport facilities to the travelling public, V Anbukkumar, Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and D Tirumala Rao, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation held discussions and signed the route proposals of the State Transport Undertakings of both the states,” read the statement.
The agreement to run bus services on the specified routes was signed in Vijayawada for the planned Ninth Supplemental Inter-state Transport Agreement.
