Bengaluru: Over 5,000 vehicles were seized by the police across the state for violating the lockdown terms.
These vehicles will be returned at the end of the lockdown period.
Sources said that as many as 310 cases have been registered in this regard.
According to the police, highest number of vehicle seizes have been reported from Bengaluru city, where over 2,000 vehicles were seized. Most of the seized vehicles are two-wheelers.
“In Hunsur taluk, a remote taluk in Mysuru, over 300 vehicles were seized. The idea behind these seizures is ensuring that all will follow the lockdown rules strictly,” explained police.
Meanwhile, in Mandya district, the local administration has asked all the fuel stations not to supply petrol for any two-wheelers to ensure that people will not roam unnecessarily.
