Mysuru: In a deeply troubling incident, the body of a man was discovered hanging near the bus stand in Chikkalli village, located in Mysuru taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Mahadeva, aged 43, a resident of Madhuvanahalli village in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district.
According to preliminary information, locals noticed the body early in the morning and immediately alerted authorities. Alanahalli police soon reached the location to inspect the scene and gather evidence.
Police officials suspect the death to be a case of suicide, though the exact reasons behind the act remain unclear. Investigators are collecting statements from residents and acquaintances to ascertain whether the deceased had been under any stress or facing personal difficulties.
The body was later shifted for post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway
