NLSIU Bengaluru Introduces BA Honours: A Blend of Academia and Career Prep

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, is set to launch its Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program for the 2025-26 academic year on December 10. Designed to merge academic rigor with professional readiness, the course leverages NLSIU’s expertise in disciplines such as history, sociology, anthropology, economics, and political science.

This innovative program serves as a pathway to NLSIU’s BA LLB (Honours) and Master’s in Public Policy, catering to the growing demand for versatile undergraduate degrees. With a focus on contemporary careers in publishing, media, development, philanthropy, and the arts, the curriculum emphasizes skill-building for dynamic industries.

Initially rooted in the university’s strong social science foundation, the program is set to expand its academic scope by incorporating additional fields in the future. During the launch event, NLSIU will unveil the course brochure, highlight its unique features, and address queries in an interactive Q&A session.

Key figures, including Vice-Chancellor Sudhir Krishnaswamy, BA Honours Committee Head Atreyee Majumder, and Dean of Academics Saurabh Bhattacharjee, will outline the vision behind this landmark initiative. The program reflects NLSIU’s commitment to preparing students for diverse, impactful careers in an evolving global landscape.
