Bengaluru: BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad warned that former corporators who don’t return the iPad given by the BBMP will not be allowed to contest in the upcoming corporation election.
According to Prasad, 109 former elected corporators and 13 nominated members are yet to return the iPad given to them by the BBMP. The cost of each iPad was Rs. 44,000.
“We already issued a notice once. Another notice will be served soon. If these members don’t return the iPad, they will not be allowed to contest in the election,” he said.
The term of the BBMP elected council was completed in October 2020. Till now 88 former elected corporators and 6 nominated members have returned the iPads.
