Bengaluru: Pre-monsoon rain had intensified in the state and three persons have died due to lightning strike reported from various places.
Shobha Chandrakantha Gowda (37), a resident of Devana near Gokarna died after she was hit by lightning.
In a similar incident Mallavva Manjapppa Naiker (57), who was working in her field died in Hosaniddegilu village in the Hirekerur taluk of the Haveri district.
Basayya Muchakandi, 67, a resident of Nandikeshwara village in Badami taluk of Bagalkot district also died due to lightning strike. The incident happened when he was returning from his farm.
Meanwhile, all the districts of the state, especially North Interior Karnataka received good rainfall on Sunday night.
The farmers are happy with the good pre-monsoon rain as they can start the agriculture activities.
KSNDMC authorities have predicted the onset of monsoon in Karnataka by June 2 or 3.
