Bengaluru: Fearing that if the Covid-19 outbreaks in the state, the government may find it difficult to ensure beds for all the patients in the hospital, the state government decided to change the treatment protocol.
As per the revised protocol, the asymptomatic and mild patients can be treated at home provided there is enough space. Only those who finds it difficult to breath will be admitted to the hospital.
According to the new guidelines announced by the health department, as of now, over 25,000 beds are available in various hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
According to the sources, 80% of the patients who are testing positive in the state are asymptomatic, while another 15% are showing mere mild symptoms like fever. “A decision in this regard has been taken based on the recommendations of the Covid 19 task force,” added authorities.
