Ride-hailing platform Rapido has announced a commendable initiative to provide free auto and cab rides to differently-abled and senior citizen voters in Bengaluru on the polling day, April 26. Collaborating with the Election Commission and BBMP, Rapido aims to facilitate voter turnout by offering free rides through its app using the code ‘VOTENOW’.
With over 10 lakh captains deployed across 100+ cities, Rapido ensures widespread coverage of this initiative. Additionally, with support from the ECI, free bike taxi rides will be extended to voters in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru.
Rapido’s co-founder, Pavan Guntupalli, emphasized the initiative’s purpose to enable every voter, especially differently-abled and senior citizens, to exercise their democratic right conveniently. This commitment reflects Rapido’s dedication to inclusivity and social responsibility.
The initiative underscores Rapido’s mission to empower and motivate Karnataka’s voter population to participate in the democratic process during the Indian General Election 2024. By providing free rides, Rapido aims to ensure equitable access to voting, reinforcing the importance of civic engagement and democracy.
