Bengaluru: A Delhi-based biotechnology engineer has come up with a unique way to eliminate unnecessary plastic waste this Independence Day, while also being green-friendly.

To combat the use of plastic flags during Independence Day celebrations all over the country, Kritika Saxena devised a method to make Indian flags out seed paper.

This unique eco-friendly paper is made out of cotton fibre base paper, embedded with marigold and basil seeds. All one has to do to dispose of the flag is to bury. This works out well for everyone as the method of disposal is in accordance with the flag code 2002 and the eco-friendly flags will sprout a new plant.

The flags also go easy on the pocket as each one costs just Rs 6. To avail these flags, however, one needs to place an order before July 21 by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 9560318854. Kritika is also shipping these flags to big cities like Bengaluru.

By doing this, Kritika wants to give back to nature what we have taken away.
