Seven held by CCB sleuths for operating hookah bar

Bengaluru: The women and narcotic wing of City Crime Branch (CCB) has raided Baristo Brew, situated at Krishna Nagar Industrial Area, near Christ College and arrested seven people for operating a hookah bar illegally.

The police have identified the arrested persons as Pankaj Agarwal from Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu, Mohan Krishna (22), from LB Nagar, Hyderabad, Wunganing Horam (23) from Manipur, Pitoka (23), from Nagaland, Awoto (19), Vitopu (24), both from Nagaland and Mashangam M K (24) from Manipur.

According to the police, the organisers of Baristo Brew have been operating hookah bar without following norms. The police said the accused not only operating the hookah bar in the vicinity of educational institutions but also allow minors into the hookah bar. The police said that more than 30 youth and college students were found at Baristo Brew. The police have informed their parents about their children visiting the hookah bar.

The police have also seized the equipment used to operate the hookah bar. A case has been registered at Mico Layout police station.
