Short film in just 50 hours! Bengaluru techie group wins India Film Project

Bengaluru: A group of techies from Bengaluru have won a contest to make a short film in 50 hours by India Film Project.

The director Hasa Samudrala-led team participated in the contest held in Mumbai on the topic “Everything is Connected” by India Film Project organisation and has won the third prize.

The organisation had announced the contest on September 15 at 8 pm on its website. As many as 29,000 teams participated from 28 countries.

The Bengaluru team successfully completed shooting the short film on September 16 from 11 am to 11 pm. The team finished editing within the next two hours and submitted minutes before the deadline.

Speaking about the thrilling experience of making the short film, director Hasa Samudrala said, “Immediately after the organisation announced the contest, we first divided the roles of cast and then we completed the script writing later. If script is finalised then half of the work is done in making a movie. We spent more time on finishing the script.”

“One of our members Shivakumar did the colour correction and two others composed music for our film. For making this movie, we have spent 2 sleepless days. We are happy that our hard work paid off,” he added.

Hasa Samudrala is an MBA graduate and has vast experience in working with several start-ups. The team has spent over Rs 12,000 for the making of the movie which has been shot in HSR Layout and other places in the city.
