Bengaluru: Higher education minister GT Devegowda’s statement that JDS activists didn’t support the Congress in Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency created tremors in the state coalition government. Upset by GTD’s statement, former CM Siddaramaiah urged CM HD Kumaraswamy to drop GTD and tourism minister Sa Ra Mahesh from the cabinet immediately. Both the leaders are from Mysuru district.
According to the sources, upset by the statement made by GTD, Siddaramaiah called HDK, who is in Udupi and spoke about his disappointment.
“Siddaramaiah told HDK that if the Congress candidate loses in Mysuru, then it would be the end of coalition government at the state,” said leaders close to Siddaramaiah.
If sources are to be believed, Siddaramaiah also spoke to AICC Karnataka in-charge KC Venugopal and informed him about GTD’s statement. “Venugopal is also very upset,” explained a Congress leader from Mysuru.
