Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar are not enjoying a cordial relationship and glimpses of the hostility were seen on Wednesday night.
As of sources, both the leaders got into a war of words in front of AICC Karnataka in-charge KC Venugopal in a meeting of the senior leaders convened to decide the portfolios of newly inducted eight cabinet ministers.
All started when Siddaramaiah allegedly directed Dr G Parameshwar to surrender his home portfolio. Irked by this Dr Parameshwar shouted at Siddu questioning his authority to give him such a direction.
Both the leaders continued their verbal dual till Venugopal intervened, it is said. “At one point of time, Dr G Parameshwar announced that he is resigning. It led to total chaos in the meeting,” informed a Congress leader to Newskarnataka.
Interestingly, major irrigation and medical education minister DK Shivakumar also declined to surrender medical education post. Siddaramaiah proposed the department to E Tukaram. But DK Shivakumar informed that he is not going to surrender.
