Bengaluru:In a tragic incident in Bengaluru‘s tech corridor, the lifeless body of a nine-year-old girl named Manasa was discovered under mysterious circumstances in the swimming pool of an apartment complex off Varthur-Gunjur road, as reported by the police on Friday.
Residing in the same apartment complex with her family, the young victim’s demise has raised questions surrounding the circumstances leading to her death. According to residents of the apartment complex, it is believed that the girl accidentally fell into the swimming pool after coming into contact with a live wire hanging from a nearby light pole. The uncertainty regarding whether the cause of death is drowning or electrocution persists, pending the results of a post-mortem examination.
In the official complaint filed by the grief-stricken father, he expresses suspicion that his daughter may have drowned after an accidental fall into the swimming pool at approximately 7:30 pm on Thursday, as stated by a senior police officer.
The girl was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where, unfortunately, she was declared dead. While claims of electrocution have been made, no apparent injury marks were found on her body. The authorities are diligently investigating the incident from various perspectives, emphasizing the need for the post-mortem report to conclusively determine the exact cause of the young girl’s untimely demise.
Following the incident, the apartment residents protested and demanded justice for the girl.
“We want justice for my daughter. We want to know the truth behind her death. We want the police to probe the matter and fix responsibility,” the father of the girl told reporters here, adding that this should not happen to any other child.
