Trio nabbed for extorting money using SHRC Chairperson Meera Saxena’s photograph

Bengaluru: Three persons involved in extorting money from gullible people using the photograph of State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Chairperson Meera Saxena were nabbed by Bommanhalli police team in Bengaluru.

The arrested persons have been identified as Mani, Vadivelu and Mehaboob.

The accused had extorted Rs 25,000 from a tailor named Babu three days ago. They had threatened the tailor of registering a case by NHRC in case he failed to make the payment.

The tailor at the receiving end had registered a complaint at Bommanhalli police station. Police immediately swooped on the trio and seized several identity cards, Rs 7,000 in cash and 10 pants from the accused.
