Tumakuru: Prasanna Kumar, a Congress ticket aspirant from Gubbi Assembly constituency in the District, has been suspended for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
Prasanna Kumar, who had put pressure on the party High Command not to induct S. R. Srinivas, who had resigned from the JD (S), into the Congress party, had demanded a ticket for the original Congress leader.
Prasanna Kumar had also held a press conference and opposed the inclusion of S. R. Srinivas in the Congress. Tumakuru Congress District President Chandrashekar Gowda has suspended Prasanna Kumar for preparing to contest as a rebel candidate in the elections.
Though the Party High Command had instructed the party leaders to work together to ensure the victory of former MLA Srinivas, Prasanna Kumar has been suspended to quell the rebellion after he violated the instructions of the High Command, clarified Congress District President Chandrashekar Gowda.
