Tumakuru: Veteran Lyricist Dr. H. P. Nagarajayya has advised the Government that singing the first and last stanzas of the Naadageethe will be very effective.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 14th District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana organised by the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat at Glass House here on Thursday December 15. “It takes a lot of time to sing as there are so many lines. He said that along with the first paragraph of the Naadageethe, singing the last stanza will make more sense and save time.

“I have attended literary conferences in dozens of countries. There they finish their national anthem in a very short time. He suggested it would be more beneficial if the Naadageethe is restricted to 52 seconds in the same way that our national anthem ends in 52 seconds. Let the Government take action in this regard,” he said.
