Bengaluru: The Kodigehalli police have arrested two persons who allegedly created a ruckus in an inebriated state, and attacked and bit a constable when he tried to apprehend them, in Kodigehalli on Saturday night.

The police have identified the accused as Roshan Raja, 33, a resident of Malleswaram, and Girish, 31, a resident of Hebbal. The police said Roshan works in a private firm while Girish is a contract labourer in ISRO.

One of the accused chewed two fingers on the left hand of constable Shantalinga and tore his uniform in a bid to escape, a senior police officer said.

According to the police, a few men were engaged in an argument near a bar around 1 a.m. When the Sub-Inspector and a constable questioned them for creating a public nuisance, Roshan and Girish attacked constable Shantalinga.

Roshan allegedly bit his left hand and tore his uniform, and tried to escape.

However, the policemen chased them and pinned them down before alerting the control room for backup.
