Bengaluru: NR Santosh, who played a key role in defections in JDS and Congress, which brought theBJP back to the power in the state, has been now appointed as the new political secretary to CM. He is the fourth political secretary to CM with the cabinet ranking.
An engineering graduate, Santosh is the grandson of BSY’s sister. He served BSY as the assistant between 2015 and 2019 till the formation of the state government.
According to the sources, Santosh has been appointed as the political secretary to CM after a few relatives of the CM allegedly complained that BY Vijayendra is sidelining the family members.
“Santosh is linked to atleast two anonymous letters against CM BSY. BSY who has understood the importance of Santosh, has appointed him under family pressure,” added sources.
Interestingly, Santosh is a senior ABVP leader. He served the organisation for over 14 years at various capacities.
Yelahanka MLA SR Vishwanatha, Honnalli MLA MP Renukacharya and Shankar Gowda Patil are already working as the Political Secretaries to the CM.
