Karwar: More than 40 turkeys were found dead at Kotemane in Ummachgi Panchayat limits of the Taluk.
More than 40 turkies belonging to Kalavathi Somin Siddhi of Ummachagi died in two phases due to poisoning by miscreants.
For the first time a month earlier, more than 30 chickens had suddenly died. At that time, the family had cooked and ate them. The next day, when the family members started experiencing problems like vomiting and diarrhea, they found that a small amount of poison had accumulated in the body for which they had been on medication for four to five days.
