Karwar: Rs 93.5 Lakh was being illegally transported in autorickshaws to Kumta Taluk. The money was traced to the flying squad and seized.
The incident took place on April 28t near Chandawara checkpost in Kumta Taluk. Money was being transported from Shivamogga to Kumta. The autorickshaw driver and another person in the autoa were taken into custody along with the money.
93.5 Lakh was transported in autorickshaw without registration at Chandavara checkpost of Honnavar Taluk under Kumta assembly constituency.
SST Team and Flying Squad Team have recovered the money and it has been duly deposited in the Sub-Treasury, Kumta. To whom this money belongs and to which party has not been yet known. The investigation is on.
